I spent 5 years as an industrial electrician before making the jump to line work, where I've been climbing poles and pulling wire for the last 10 years. Across both careers, one thing never changed — tracking my pay was always a nightmare. Every pay period, I'd sit down with a calculator, a notepad, and try to figure out what my check should be — juggling straight time, different types of OT, per diem, meal tickets, shift differentials, remembering what days I worked overtime, etc. all just to find make sure I got paid what I was supposed to get paid.
I looked for a solution that understood how electricians and linemen actually get paid. There wasn't one. Not a single tool that handled our multi-rate OT, our non-taxable reimbursements, or our shift differentials. So after 15 years in the trade, I built it myself.
